What are signs of a colon that is not functioning properly?
When sufferers visit a physician, they speak of symptoms of one or more of these complaints that have occurred for years: constipation, coated tongue, bad breath, shallow complexion, dark circles under the eyes, abnormal body odor, cold hands and feet, unstable blood pressure (up or down), brittle nails and hair, sagging posture (pot belly), tension, fatigue, allergies, indigestion, menstrual problems, swelling of legs, asthma, backache, and loss of memory or concentration.
Is the procedure painful?
Rarely. Sometimes during the procedure the muscles of the colon will contract suddenly, expelling considerable liquid and waste into the rectum and out the tubing. This contraction may feel like cramping or gas with pressure in the rectum. Most of the process is mild and gentle with a light, empty and clean feeling afterwards.
Is Colon Hydrotherapy safe?
It is completely safe. You will be attended by a professionally trained and skilled Colon Technician that utilizes safe FDA approved equipment. Sterile- disposable tubing and speculums are used with each treatment to prevent any contamination. The water pressure is that of a normal pressure for a healthy bowel movement.
Is it embarrassing?
No. Your dignity is completely maintained and we pride ourselves on making your therapy a pleasant experience. Therapy is performed in a private room. You are provided with a gown and blanket that you drape over your body. FDA approved devices are used so no uncomfortable or embarrassing odor will exist during colon hydrotherapy.
How much time is required for a Colon Hydrotherapy Session?
Plan on about an hour per visit. You will be on the table for about 45 minutes and will want time before and after to use the restroom.
What should I do before a session?
Avoid eating gas-forming foods such as beans and cabbage the day of your colonic as well as the day before to help reduce cramping. If there are other foods that you know make you gassy, avoid those as well. It can be more comfortable to refrain from eating at least two hours before your scheduled appointment time. For best results, avoid fatty foods and prepare a diet of vegetables and grains.
What kind of diet shall I follow after getting a Colon Hydrotherapy session?
Following large intestinal cleansing, the body may feel weary or relaxed. This is simply your body working out and processing through its cleaning period; so, proper rest is important for your body to recuperate and rejuvenate. After receiving Colon Hydrotherapy, for best results:
• Drink plenty of liquids (distilled or purified water, juices, herb teas)
• Eat light foods for 24 hours after the procedure. (Vegetable soups are recommended)
• Avoid eating raw vegetables for a day or two. Steamed vegetables and raw fruits are sufficient -- chew thoroughly. Also avoid anything frozen
or ice cold.
• Reduce flesh consumption. (Especially beef, pork, and chicken)
Will one colonic completely empty the colon?
Not often. Many of us have a substantial amount of impacted feces in our colon that consists of hardened, rubbery or wallpaper like material. Secondly, there is a learning process involved in receiving colonics. As you become more aware of what is going on in your abdomen, and as your body learns how to allow the cleansing experience, you are better able to enter into that process, and therefore more material is released. One colonic will remove some of the stagnant waste in the colon. The second and subsequent colonics will remove more. However many you may wish to have will depend upon your personal health objectives and the advice of your therapist.
If I use Colon Hydrotherapy regularly to cleanse my colon, will my colon stop functioning on its own?
An important feature of Colon Hydrotherapy is to strengthen the colon and keep it from becoming sluggish. When the colon is sluggish and a bowel movement does not return a few days after therapy, it is an indication that a series of colonics is needed to remove the buildup of fecal material that has built up in the bowel over the years. Once the series of colonics has successfully cleansed the colon, the colon will begin to function regularly.
Will Colon Hydrotherapy make me constipated or give me diarrhea?
Many clients have experienced a slight delay in bowel movements after therapy and then a resumption of a somewhat larger, easier to move stool.
Does Colon Hydrotherapy wash out intestinal flora and important nutrients?
In truth, the washing out of rotten material in the large intestine, which is only partially reached in Colon Hydrotherapy, increases the good intestinal flora. Good bacteria can only breed in a clean environment that has been washed free of putrefaction and its accompanying harmful bacteria. That is why the intestines of a newborn baby immediately begin to grow good intestinal flora. Each time you clean out the putrefying garbage and make a better environment for the flora, they start to multiply immediately in their natural media. It also stands to reason that valuable nutrients can better be absorbed in a clean environment that in a putrefied one. We recommend most people to take a probiotic supplement on a regular basis to replenish the levels of good bacteria in their system.
Is Colon Hydrotherapy habit-forming?
Colon Hydrotherapy retrains the muscle or the bowel to regain strength. After a series, most people regain the normal bowel function of one movement per day. A healthy bowel will have two to three bowel movements a day, depending on what you eat. Trouble is usually first recognized by an individual as constipation or diarrhea. These danger signs along with foul-smelling stool and gas may be over looked. Golden brown use to be considered the normal color, but now that vegetables are recommended the color reflects the vegetables. During constipation, you may observe a darkening of the stool because of the long transition time in your system. The colon will distribute the results of decay, fermentation and putrefaction into the blood.
What kind of water is used?
FDA registered equipment provides four-stage filtration and ultraviolet purification units for water safety.
Will Laxatives and/or Enemas accomplish the same results?
No! To clean out the lower part of the colon, enemas work fine. But, you are missing about four feet of the colon. Laxatives are an irritant to the body causing the body to produce a thin, watery substance that goes through the colon leaving behind impacted waste on the colon walls. Colon Hydrotherapy safely cleans the entire colon.
